As a migrant, who moved to Australia in 2010 from Northern Ireland, Jen has worked extensively as an International Recruiter, Careers Consultant and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion advocate. Jen founded Awesome You Academy with a mission to empower culturally and linguistically diverse individuals with tools for career success and workplace equality. At Awesome You Academy, 90% of coaching clients are from culturally diverse backgrounds, with 70% being women of colour. Jen’s impact is evident in her numerous career and leadership success stories, along with glowing recommendations from many POC on LinkedIn.
Jen’s career contributions include delivering workplace cultural awareness training with well-known organisations, as well as guest lecturing at Australian universities. She has directly supported indigenous young people in securing Fortune 500 positions, and Jen was nominated as β€œMentor of the Year” having supported several people of colour with their Australian start-up businesses. Jen is also a speaker and consultant for iSTEM Co, an enterprise facilitating leadership and career advancement for women in STEM, especially the retention of women of colour.
Jen is proud to be an ally for professionals of colour in Australia. Her extensive global travel experience, encompassing 50 countries, and over 3,000 career coaching sessions underpin her commitment to helping people from diverse backgrounds flourish personally and professionally. Jen is a dedicated Champion of Change and passionately committed to ensuring that people of colour in Australia, receive the promotions, leadership, and career opportunities that they rightfully deserve!

🌈 Community Champion of the Year: Utsav (Sav) Gupta  🌈

Utsav is a passionate advocate for People of Color and CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse) communities in Australia. He arrived in Australia as an international student and recognised the challenges faced by this diverse cohort that contributes hugely to the Australian economy. Since then, he has made significant contributions in a variety of roles, including:
Representing and advocating for over 5,000 international postgraduate students at the Australian National University, highlighting workplace exploitation during part-time/casual work. He led a campaign to raise awareness of the issue and advocate for better working conditions for international students.
Receiving an award from the Council of International Students in Australia (CISA) for successfully implementing a program to assist financially disadvantaged international students during the 2020 COVID crisis. He helped over 7000 students with financial assistance, food and grocery vouchers, and other essential support services.
Managing programs to assist migrants and refugees with relevant employment opportunities as part of the government-funded Pathways to Work (PTW) program in 2021, helping them find work placements and integrate into the Australian workforce.
Supporting international students with career development and migration opportunities, while implementing projects for student wellbeing across the Australian higher education sector. Utsav has worked with universities and other organizations to develop programs and resources to help international students succeed in their studies and careers.
